Eargo - Charging case is defective
Charging case for units is defective after several months of use making it impossible to recharge hearing aids. Units gave some benefit and were pretty comfortable when inserted, but they need to be charged to function.
Hearing aids are worthless if you canโt recharge them.
Also, very difficult to contact company to correct problem. Company is heavy in sales, but limited in service. Very clever design of charging case, but materials and construction are cheap and fell apart after limited use.
Not sure what one can say in addition. I see that this website requires a minimum of 100 words, so I will continue to add repetitious or repetitive statements to make sure it fulfills their requirements.
Reason of review: Damaged or defective.
Preferred solution: Replace charging case.
Eargo Pros: Good design.
Eargo Cons: Bad quality.
Location: Portland, Maine

Thank you for taking the time to comment. Itโs important to understand about 80% of our device failures are due to wax or oil getting into the device, which affects how well the deviceโs contacts can be โreadโ by our charger.
This is simply a byproduct of wearing a technological device in the ear. While hearing aids are generally replaced every 3 - 5 years, Eargo is a technological device, similar to a smartphone, and the lifetime of the product will be dependent on the wearerโs type and frequency of usage. As with any piece of electronics, our device's lifespan is a function of how well you care for them and tech obsolescence. We have Eargo devices that are still fully operational since we began selling them in 2015.
Weโd like to look into your Eargo experience more. Would you be open to emailing us the contact information provided at your time of purchase to social@eargo.com?
On May 2nd I spoke with a Doris B{{{Redacted}}}. Her phone # was {{{Redacted}}}.
I sent her my hearing exam and she sent a "cheat sheet" at that time. Problem is not with the hearing devices themselves.
It is with the charging case which worked ok for a while but now it is difficult to recharge the case because the electric cord will not insert in the prong to charge the case, i.e.. the case is defective.
Dorsey, Thank you for your comment. We're sorry to hear our troubleshooting suggestions didn't help.
